On April 6, “People's Daily” reporters went to the frontline with a front-page headline story "Seeing New Quality Productive Forces Through a Smart Factory", witnessing Qianwan New Area's vigorous efforts in advancing Chinese modernization, profoundly experiencing the great power of practicing the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to strengthen confidence, boost morale and promote development.
Collaboratively moving large-sized, heavy-load plastic boxes, sorting materials together, multiple machines deftly assembling soft objects... Recently, dozens of UBTECH Walker S1 humanoid robots appeared at Zeekr's 5G smart factory in the Ningbo Qianwan New Area, completing the world's first multi-robot, multi-scenario, multi-task collaborative training session. "Manufacturing is transforming from high automation to comprehensive intelligence," said Zhao Chunlin, Vice President of the Zeekr Technology Group, noting that smart manufacturing helps improve product quality, reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
New quality productive forces mainly emerge from revolutionary technological breakthroughs. As an MIIT-designated smart manufacturing demonstration factory, Zeekr's 5G smart factory integrates 5G, AI and industrial big data through its "digital brain", using digital twins for green R&D, intelligent production for quality control, and industrial internet platforms for efficient collaboration, creating an exclusive "smart, transparent, agile and green" premium EV manufacturing base.
In the welding workshop, 703 fully-automatic welding robots and nearly 200 AGVs (automated guided vehicles) operate autonomously, achieving 100% welding automation. "Over 4,800 welding spots on each body are monitored at millisecond-level precision by the system, making quality assessment quantifiable and traceable," said Zhang Xuye, senior manager of the welding workshop. After welding, vehicles enter the painting workshop where robots fully automate primer, color and clear coat applications. In final assembly, 23 high-precision servo systems with 49 torque tools achieve 0.5mm precision in auto-assembling bodies and chassis, with all tightening data automatically uploaded to the MES.
Moreover, the factory achieves high-flexibility manufacturing, with single lines producing differently configured vehicles simultaneously. "One line can flexibly produce 6 models from 3 platforms with over 1 million configuration options. Customers can personalize everything from colors to wheel designs and audio-suspension systems and so on," Zhao added.
